Understanding the NVQ Qualifications

The following is a brief description of the course you are about to start and its relevance in the construction industry.

As from the 31st December 2007, City and Guilds qualifications for any construction trade become no longer valid on site. This was an agreement between the joint awarding bodies, CITB & City and Guilds.

This joint awarding body has now been re-branded and is known as The Construction Awards Alliance (CAA). It is an alliance between Construction Skills and City and Guilds. The aim of the CAA is to qualify all students to NVQ level 2 the recognised industry standard.

What this means for you is that following your APC course, you will have to be assessed on site ie: a workplace environment to gain the full NVQ level 2.
This will also include the CSCS Health and Safety test. Once this has been completed, you will receive your CSCS card which will show your qualification and the date you where H&S tested. This will then allow you to work on any construction site within the U.K.

We hope this helps you understand a bit more about NVQ and what is required to gain this qualification. If however you need further clarification on this, please do not hesitate to contact the awarding body at www.caaalliance.co.uk

NVQ Completion

On completing your Plastering Course with APC, if you choose to progress to the next step, then here's how to do it. VERASSESS Limited are a dedicated team of assessors and internal verifiers who are ready to help you in the completion  of your NVQ. They will guide you through the rest of your course on the O.S.A.T route (On Site Assessment and Training), which is government funded and therefore no extra cost to yourself.

If you are interested then contact Mark Sayer on 01708 776667 or e-mail at marksayer@verassess.co.uk quoting ref: APC, to arrange a mutually convenient meeting to discuss the last process of you NVQ and to complete the necessary enrolment forms with VERASSESS.
