			<description><![CDATA[Our Advanced Course will cover all aspects of traditional and ornamental crafts. You will need to have completed a training course in solid plastering to have acquired a level of competence through relevant employment to enable enrolment on the course. The aim of the course will be to train you to a level of skill and knowledge that will enable you to achieve a career within fibrous plastering industry. Successful students will be much sought after and be able to command the very best salary within the industry.<br />
The last two weeks of this course concentrates on heritage and restoration with tuition in the techniques and methods used in the upkeep of our historical and traditional buildings. <br />
<br />
The following elements will be covered on the course:<br />

Induction, tools and materials<br />
Preparing bench top and lay out rules<br />
Cutting and horsing profiles to run model or mould<br />
How to run model / mould and prepare for casting <br />
Casting from mould using Plaster, Canvas and Laths<br />
Fixing casts, cutting internal and external miters and make good<br />
Casting from stock moulds e.g. Cornice, Roses, Panel and Dado Moulding<br />
Laying out a room for plaster mouldings <br />
Installing the room with plaster mouldings<br />
Cutting and running straight model <br />
Cutting and spinning of radius model <br />
Setting out a trammel and run oval mouldings<br />
Setting out and making domes, coffers or barrel ceilings <br />
Setting elliptical archways and dress from mouldings<br />
making fluted and plain columns or pilasters<br />
Making niches, alcoves and lighting troughs <br />
Casing and pouring of rubber moulds <br />
Making moulds from other materials <br />
